Belle LOVES animals. Big time. If she spots a dog in the street then she will clap her hands and bounce up and down in the buggy until they have passed by. It is so cute. She even gets excited when she spots her Granddad’s dogs on Facetime or when she sees an animal on the TV. She is obsessed. I am just slightly dreading the day that she inevitably starts petitioning for a pet.
Luckily for us there is a great little FREE petting farm nearby. Yes FREE. We had stumbled across it pre Belle but today it proved to be the ideal afternoon activity. It is the perfect size for little legs to handle, plenty to see and explore without being too overwhelming.
Despite being in the city they have chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, goats, sheep and even a couple of cows!
I especially loved this old cat who was just snoozing on the bench in the sunshine. She looked so scruffy and old but she just didn’t care. She really made me smile. I think because she reminded me of myself on a joggers, top knot and no make up kind of day.
It is fair to say that our city baby loved seeing the real animals. I will have to take her back soon.
